Follow Your Bliss
To “follow your bliss”
does not require creating a brand out of your joy
or discovering your “life’s work”
or moving somewhere
or doing anything big.
It can be all of those things but...
To truly “follow your bliss”
is so much simpler
so much deeper
and so much more expansive
than any of that.
To “follow your bliss”
is to bow your mind
to the light of your soul.
To live in service
of each and every moment
with full devotion
when you can’t see past now.
To be present with fear
with an even deeper breath.
To “follow your bliss”
is to ride the waves
of pleasure and pain.
To embrace the tears
that melt into laughter
that ignites a scream
and explodes into ecstasy.
Letting these emotions
keep constantly moving
for the sake of emptying, gestating, rebirthing.
Feeling all parts of you as holy and whole.
To “follow your bliss”
is to honor the needs of your body.
To slow down when it’s tender
to get intimate with your fire and water
to eat what actually nourishes you
and to love this flesh so far beyond
what your mind thinks is right or wrong.
To “follow your bliss”
is to be willing to not have the answers.
To not always know your direction.
To learn to let something softer and quieter
guide the way that you move.
To “follow your bliss”
is to let yourself surprise yourself
allowing the possibility
of becoming and unbecoming
something you couldn’t have even
dreamed yourself to be.
To “follow your bliss”
is to grow deeper and deeper
in love with being human
here, now, in this perfect moment
endlessly letting go
alive as the light that never dies.
To “follow your bliss”
is to eventually stop following anything
because you come to realize yourself
as the only thing you’ve ever been after.
To “follow your bliss”
is to remember who you really are
and why you really came here.
So simply.
Bliss.
The love that is all there is.
